The object of the Group shall be to promote the objects and ideals of the British Society of Dowsers by:
• Encouraging the study and advancement of dowsing for subterranean water courses, wells and other entities, diagnosis and restoration of health, location and identification of archaeological remains and the study of Earth Energies.
• Holding meetings for talks, lectures, discussions and demonstrations.
• Arranging visits to places of interest.
• Arrange field dowsing demonstrations and investigations.
• Arrange training classes for members.

Our Committee
These are our Committee Members.
Teresa has been a member of the committee for a few years now organising venues and speakers (and after-meeting lunches together). Teresa is astrologer for Best magazine. She holds the Diploma of the Faculty of Astrological Studies and writes regularly for magazines such as Kindred Spirit.
Suzanne as well as the Secretary role does the Treasurer's and Membership Secretary's role. Suzanne has worked in this role for some time now and continues with her invaluable talents.
Electrical Engineer by profession. Using dowsing as part of the job. Until retiring and joining Slimbridge Dowsers. Now dowsing for anything that does not give bad karma. Rob has been doing the newsletter since Trish Mills stepped down.
I have been dowsing for about 40 years. I am also interested in alternative medicine, especially homeopathy and Flower Remedies, Spiritualism, Spiritual Healing, and Earth Energies. I am a retired nurse.
Jan brings to the committee a background of organising events and publicising them. Jan promotes our events through social media and other outlets.
Shaun manages our social media interface with such platforms as facebook and Telegram.
Peter Golding
Obituary – Peter Golding - 6.3.1931 to 3.2.2025
Peter Golding, a past President and founder of the Slimbridge Dowsing Group, sadly passed away on the 3rd February 2025.
Peter was introduced to dowsing whilst working in Saudi Arabia. At the time he was Chief Engineer of a company contracted to maintain all the navigational aids of one of their airfields. Where he became a fluent speaker of Arabic. Required to run a new set of underground cables, he was about to get one of his technicians to fetch some cable detectors before digging up the ground, in case they damaged any existing cables, when the digger’s driver suggested they use the old civil engineer’s trick, and dowse for them. So began a lifetime’s involvement in all aspects of dowsing.
Peter was especially renowned for his skills as a water diviner, becoming Vice-Chair of the British Society of Dowsers’ Water Divining Group, and author of their Professional Water Dowsing Curriculum. He was also an author, publishing “ Experiences of an Old Dowser”, “Dowsing for Water”, and more recently “Dowsing for Health and Spirituality”
Peter lived in the village of Slimbridge. A talk he gave to the Local History Society on using dowsing to locate a buried labyrinth in a local farmer’s field, generated such an interest in dowsing, that this led to the Slimbridge Dowsing Group being established under Peter’s Chairmanship.
Peter will be much missed by his friends and colleagues at
the Slimbridge Dowsing Group and in the wider dowsing community.
